Group exposition at Galleria Della Loggia, Carona
August 2024

The photographic work “Ritrovarsi” (“to find oneself again” in English) is a triptych of black and white images, which invite the viewer to move closer and farther apart in an attempt to find logic. The black and white, with its full, empty, and gray forms, create a visual and conceptual ambiguity. It is precisely here that my central theme takes shape: the gaze seeks and follows the lines, trying to find logic, a relationship between object and memory. Eventually, perhaps, here is the glimpse of an impression of a body, a landscape, or a sinuous object suspended in the time and space of a photograph. In that very moment when doubt and curiosity reach a logical, conceptual relationship, the gaze cannot but find a moment of peace. The viewer actively participates in the search and, in doing so, finds what he believes to be a meaning, or creates a whole new one, in relation to his own experience, memory, and feeling. From the indefinite to the definite, the viewer finds certainty in the visual space proposed by the photographs and, perhaps, also finds themselves.
