I had the chance to meet Veronica (or Vroni for friends), an old yet active and lively lady for a project on aging. She graciously welcomed me in her cozy home, and our conversation touched upon her past and the life she lived, between volunteer work, social work, and trips all around the world. She passionately told me about her 10 years living in Burundi, Africa, helping young kids in need; that place holds a very important part of her heart. An extraordinary life indeed! Today, she still contributes to society by knitting clothes for refugee immigrants.
This photographic series aims to portray the meaning of being old, not with a melancholic approach, but rather in a way that underscores fulfillment and peacefulness.
